0 Compression?
0 Compression?
New here bought a 2009 cobalt as about a year ago. Mods- intake, full exhaust, everything else stock. I was tuned on an ethanol mix recently, day or two after my car would let out a puff of white smoke here and there. Soon after the car died on me, sounds like a subaru. I checked everything and cylinder one shows 0. There is no leaks, oil looks normal. Removed intake manifold and there was quite a bit of oil in that port going to that same exact cylinder. Any idea if the motor is shot? I've also gotten low coolant light during wot, also came up while car was being tuned, but coolant always stay the same. My guess it's just rocking back and forth tripping out the sensor or something. :/
The same port when looking inside of cylinder head about cylinder w/o compression has fluid (oil) inside. A lot of yellow particles was found all over the car shortly after the motor went and white smoke poured out the back.

I stabbed in some Wiseco pistons.
I'm guessing you have cracked the ringlands on at least one cylinder. That would cause the symptoms you're describing. A cracked sleeve would be more exciting.

Seems like the easiest and most cost-effective way to remedy this type of issue is with a new longblock from zzp. It sounds like most guys that go to rebuild with a new sleeve end up spending more than they would have just buying a crate motor.
Here is your solution OP
ZZPerformance - Gen 3 LNF/LDK Short Block #ZZ-LDKSB
Also, get a new tuner. That guy is likely no good, but we would need to see some logs to be sure...
