08 SS/TC Intake + Tune Suggestions
Fairly new to the LNF community, I've seen and read a TON in regards to aftermarket parts available for our cars. I currently have a 2008 SS/TC with 29,000 on it and I want to start with mods.
Anyone have any feedback as far as Air Intakes go? Which one's sound great or perform better? (I've read the AEM gives the most improvement over the factory air intake). Which would be better SRI or CAI?
And now the big question, TUNES!
The GMS1 seems like a lot of $ for little improvement. I've heard mixed things about Trifecta & HP. My goal is to hit around 300Whp and 330Wtq and keep somewhat of some drive ability. I really would like to avoid having to get a new clutch and really don't want the timing majorly messed up and end up purchasing new pistons.
Anyone with some experience with these mods have any suggestions? Thanks!

Alot of people here tend to say that K&N is the top dog when it comes to intakes
To save cash, keep some reliability and driveability, I would say go with Trifecta. You don't need that many mods to hit 300WHP. GMS1 is fine for the person who want's moar power but still wants to keep their warranty. I, however, no longer have a warranty on the car. mods galore.
To clarify: HP Tuners are really good. They pump out some major power. I just like that Trifecta tunes are generally done by the same guy who does this all day long.

Either tune is good. If you go hp just make sure you get a well known tuner who tunes lnfs allot. Many people on here can point you in the right direction. Hp tuners can get you more power because they will go more aggressive than Vince but that being said Vince does safe tunes.
Either way you could make 300whp 330ftlbs with either method and that's pretty much bone stock. Downpipe is your first and most important mod for power gains and then intake.
I have a k&n and between the nice fuel trims and the wicked sound I would highly recommend it!
AEM and treadstone both have good reputations and they are full CAI.
To each there own. If your getting a tune any of those intakes are good as they can iron out the fuel trims anyway.

GMS1 is a very noticeable improvement. i gained almost 40whp and 80 wtq on GMS1.. keeps warranty as well.. you'll get closer to 300hp at the crank but if you want more power then go with aftermarket
