09 SS Coolant Hose
09 SS Coolant Hose
My ZZP Intake crimped the coolant hose it's next to and when I moved it I noticed it damaged the hose and I'm now leaking Coolant. Anybody have any idea the part number I can get that hose from?
Same thing happened to me. If its the rubber section and the metal is good, get a piece of hose from napa and cutthe chewed hose away . Make new hose a bit longer and dont smush it.
also coolant return is all one piece like 140 dollars called turbo coolant return line sonnnnnnnn.

I know this is an old post, but does anyone know what the diameter of this hose is? I have the exact same issue as Kurisutofa, except with my Hahn piping. It was the hose clamp head rubbing against it.
Take off the hose and check, I forgot what it was, I had to get new hose when I installed my Zfr cause the rubber was baked onto the metal part and when I tried to pull it off the hose split , like as in if u were skinning an animal. Half the thickness stayed on the other half came off . Was weird.

U can tank it off by the engine, it's just a clamp only need pliers . Would take 2 minutes. Or simply do it at home , hook it back up and go buy ur hose, ur making to much of it when it's really simply .
I agree, it's easy to get off in a parking lot, no big deal. But I have to wait for the pressure in the cooling system to drop. That'll take a good 20-30 minutes before I can open the cap and release the rest of it. That's my only issue.
What's a little scolding coolant all over u lol
Seperating the men from the boys (or the skin from the bone)? Heh. I'm not loosing much coolant, I can make it until Thursday and I'll have my motorcycle ready to ride again. So I can pull the hose off Wednesday night. That should work. I was hoping to stop on my way home, but whatever.
Its a low pressure system, should max out around 20psi. Hell the stock system uses band clamps, so a worm drive clamp will hold just fine, add a flare to keep it from slipping off and boom fixed.
Okay, I like the sound of this. You're right, it's only 20psi. Using a worm drive clamp on the braided line, will I have to worry about the braid becoming frayed at the end? Also what exactly is a flare in this context?
Just an update. The SS braided hoses are on backorder from where I ordered them so I tossed a single ~2' long hose on there for now. 3/8" fit perfectly.
What I did see with the old hose was interesting. The heat got so intense it seperated the two layers of the hose. The inner layer was firmly sealed to the hard line but a leak started further down where the outer layer seperated (braided nylon between the layers).
I am guessing this was a mix of the heat and the intake possibly rubbing up against it. I do know that after a 20 minute track session the heat after shutdown is too hot for me to keep my hand held ~6" over the back of the engine by the turbo. This last track weekend my spot in the paddock wasn't quite level. So I couldn't leave the engine idling to cool things down. I noticed it would start getting about 220. Once I realized this I'd leave the paddock and drive around a bit to let things cool.
