Question 09 ss wont stay running.

I just recently installed TurboXS turbo back catless exhaust. Put it on drove it for about 30 miles ran fine. Next morning I installed the IC piping and a CAI. I took it for a test drive and it has almost no boost after I got into 2nd gear. I took the CAI off to go back to stock because I had a 06 ss sc which the CAI threw a CEL. Unhooked the battery for a while. Hooked it back up and the car starts then dies. Will not idle. Any suggestions?

The can will run like **** without proper tuning, hence the lack of boost. However the car starting and dying this I'm not sure about. Check all your piping, is everything hooked up correctly? All your sensors plugged right? Before you unhooked the battery the car would idle? I would look into that

Either huge boost leak or your MAF or lower map are not plugged in or are bad. Any pending codes if you scan the car?

I second "huge boost leak." You're probably seeing black smoke, right OP? You didn't get one of your pipes on there correctly. See my sig for boost leak test or just try and re-seat all couplers.

It's funny. I've been running stock pipes for 5 years under varying boost levels. I've never had an issue.

I neglected tightening the T-Bolt clamp onto the TB. Such a ******* thing to do. I contemplated re installing the CAI thinking that the sole problem was due to the IC piping not being connected to the TB. Suggestions on that?

CAI on these cars without a tune usually don't run too well. I'd wait until you are ready to have the intake tuned for.

all this car runs like crap with cai or catless downpipe without tune,is all a bunch of crap. have any of u that say this actually ever run ur car with these mods without tune? Cause I have and car ran totally fine, no difference. yes u need a tune to take advantage of the mods, but it wont run any worse than stock except for fuel trims being off. only way it will run like crap is if mods are not installed correctly. So please, please stop giving people bs information .

I would say drastically thrown off fuel trims count as not running as well as stock. Why do you think so few people run CAIs?

Have you ever logged your car with these untuned mods and compared them to the stock parts logs?
You will see what everyone is saying and why if you have.
Maybe YOU should stop presenting misinformation sir

Hey I agree with that, but when u say car runs like crap, most people would think, it noticeably runs like crap, not only runs like crap if ur scanning it and seeing what's going on even though it seems to run exactly the same when u just sit in it and drive . Clearify for the guys, not everyone is a tuner or knows what ur talking about when u say runs like crap
