1:30 Appointment

So, I have an appointment with the dealership today to get my CV Joints replaced as they both went bad after 12k. I don't really figure how, because I rarely get on my car.

Anyway... so I was driving back to my hometown as that is where the dealership is, and I'm traveling on the expressway doing about 70-73 mph. All of a sudden my car jerks. So I'm thinking wtf! It wasn't severe but still caught me off guard, and then it does it again! So I turn down the music, put the windows up and close the sunroof. I feel it again! So I start slowing down a little bit and cruise around 65 to see if it has something to do with the speed, went I am doing 65, I see the rpm's drop about 100-200 rpms and jump back up, that's when the jerk is occuring.

Well, I decide to step on it and see what is going on because weeks ago my car fell on it's face when I was in 3rd gear and I went over 4k rpm's and all of a sudden it was like it had no power... It wouldn't really excelerate any faster. It was weird... So back to the story... I go and step on the gas and my boost won't really go over 10 PSI. I'm tuned for GMS1 and have seen boost levels of 20-22. So I get off the expressway and get on some side roads. Try my car out from digs and see what is going on... it won't really boost over 10 PSI. Sometimes I got as high as 16-17, but it's just wierd.

I have to try it yet this morning to see if it's still doing it, but does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Boost leak?

It tends to be the most common problem.

I'll mention it to the dealer. It's funny, because my car is stock performance wise besides K&N drop-in filter and GMS1. Where was your leaks at?

The most common are in the charge pipes where it attaches to the intercooler, or with stock intercooler, it tends to crack in the plastic end tanks. It's a crappy design but most dealerships don't acknowledge it so they may try to blame it on you.

They can kiss my ass, because I haven't tampered with that at all. On the other hand, my dealer is pretty good with me. Most of the time they are complimenting on my car.

Did you throw a code? Because mine had the same problem with the GMS1, & the lower TMAP sensor wires were a little loose/out of place. But I don't know if this is the same problem......

I haven't thrown a code, but I'm starting to wonder if it is the tune, because I just went for a drive and I'm boosting full PSI again, 20+. It's starting to **** me off... this was the first time the car jerked like that though, cruising. I will mention it to them, I am going to ask if they soddered the wires together... and to check them out. Grr! I hate not having the problem when I take in in to get it looked at.

The jerky steering usually comes from ball joints or just grooves in the road. Our tires are kinda wide and track really bad in grooves.

Well they adjusted the nipple on the wastegate actuater, put a few washers on, etc. They scanned the car and it had 2 codes, MAF code and misfire code. They cleared the codes, they didn't come back, to them, never popped up on my CEL, and replaced the entire front axle. Hopefully this won't affect performance too much and eliminate the other problems.... otherwise I go back again!
