17 inch slick..will it rub?

went to the local performance shop i buy stuff at..turns out..the slick is to big..wont fit and will rub..however a MT et street might be able to fit..we are ordering some in to see
and a drag radial is a radial tire which means they have stiffer sidewalls and a radial design. slicks usually ar bias ply and will wrinkle the sidewalls= better launch and 60 ft times. M & H has a 275-45-18 out def. wont clear your lowered car but their 275-50-17 might work
You'd probably be better off with a 225/50/17 or 235/50/17. Going to a DR 205 from a Sport Tire 225 (stock) seems pointless IMO
