1st gear is a dog
1st gear is a dog
u guys notice how 1st gear in the ss/tc are kinda slow? i guess we are limited to 8-10 psi in first gear?? talking stock here......
also, seems like full 260 ft/lbs torque doesn't really hit til after 2,000 rpms. cuz the specs say full 260 at 2,000 but i think realistically its more like 3,000. maybe some lag from crank to wheels?? i noticed that on my old sti also, about 1,000 over what specs were.
ps was kinda regretting getting a sedan ss/tc , started to want a coupe, but took a long hard look at coupe ss/tc and realized that it kinda looks like a civic coupe from side, only looks better than sedan from back, with front being identical

u guys also notice that at high speeds 80-90 mph our ss/tc don't feel that 'planted'? again just used to awd with my old sti which felt rock solid planted to 150mph, oh well ,we get what we paid for. maybe i'll have the tires checked for being out of balance, maybe thats what the prob is??
Depending on what mode you're in the car's limiting boost in first gear differently from the rest. I wouldn't say it's a dog my problem is the ****** (being FWD) let's go far too much and if you have TC on hold on in second if your tires let go or you'll be introduced to the steering wheel.

I personally thought my first gear is pretty decent. I havent spun my tires yet in it and it takes off like a bat outta hell. After I tuned it tho it spins like crazy, still gotta make a few adjustments to it tho!
