yea the price for a custom vs stage 1 is quite steep, dyno numbers would be cool but as we all know every dyno, day and car is different so who knows. I would like to see some nice legal 30-40 pulls with trifecta vs stage 1 vs HP tuners or something. Not from a dig to keep out driver error.

you also get 50 ft/lbs more of torque around 4500-5000 when the stock tune would fall on its face.

The aftermarket VS Custom tune discussion will always turn out the same . Tuners don't have to worry about the powertrain lasting 100K + miles ....or CARB . Warranty and performance are the two things that sell the stage kit's . Soon there will be no way to get a tuned car warrantied .....If they really do their job now ....an aftermarket tune should be found .

Upon further inspection I take it all back. I am losing my eyesight as well as my hearing in my advanced stage of life. I was imagining something that is NOT in the picture and substituting a picture I would really like to see. Sorry if I gave anybody a woody.

Well we will see how long till turbo says good bye. Not being a dick but the way bill was explain it to us if your over spinning the turbo you can say good bye to it! And ALL tunes are detected by GM techs. Nothing can be hidden from GM techs.

yes it can.

example.

when i go into a dealership, and they use TECH2 and see stock tune on my ECU they will understand this.

also, over spinning the turbo? what makes the stage kit tune so much safer compared to trifecta or HPTuners? does GM have a special "dont spin so fast turbo" application?

you said its making 22 psi? thats close to what trifectas tune makes...

my tune.making 30 psi..is obviously going to break down my turbo quicker...when it happens..who knows..ill man up and buy a new one.

hey!!! he told me that also. No doubt that Trifecta and others are faster but I don't want to hear any bitch threads when something happens to the owners car and they want warranty to cover it, gota pay to play.

"ill man up and buy a new one"

Hahah ok when a GM engineer says something I believe him. And that is why the Stage 1 only makes 280hp 320tq and you probably make a lot more. Although I am not going to sit here and argue with you about this.

This post was for projekt!

im not arguing at all man, just bringing some facts/points to the table. all based on opinion right?

a GM tech could also be biased, and would tell you that so you purchase his product..i've worked my fair share of retail and have a business dipolmia, i know how sales pitch's work.

im not bashing the stage kit, i just dont think for 700 USD+ or 1200 CAD is worth it for a sensor and tune.

hey if something breaks on my car that i know isnt my fault (I.E map sensor, struts w/e) i expect GM to fix it.

If the turbo blew tomorrow...id start pricing out turbo swaps.in the mean time right now..id have to go get warranty..simply because its my DD lol.

Come winter..when its stored..and i have my winter car (getting it tomorrow) i wouldnt care...id price out a swap or buy another K04.

Sorry but GM has not been able to detect the tune on my car. My Trifecta 23psi tune is not going to burn out the turbo. I'll take double the power at half the price. Theres nothing wrong with the GM tune but geez quit saying other's tunes are detectable. Good for Bill, he can find it because he knows about it. I guess he's just going to email every GM dealership so we will lose our warranty huh? And like Projekt said, if the turbo does go, can't wait to slap a huge replacement one on.

Do we have dyno numbers anywhere for the Trifecta tune to compare to the GM stage kit?

Well there's plenty of Trifecta tuned dyno numbers from members on here. We just need to wait for people to put the GM tune on their cars and get dynoed so we can get accurate numbers. GM will never make a tune as aggressive as aftermarket though.
