People are completely misinterpreting what Bill Duncan said in an earlier post. They think "turbo overspool safeties" means "learn down". That's plain wrong; it WILL protect the motor if it sees unsafe levels of boost but then again, which modification are you adding that would allow increased boost levels, the wastegate is electronically controlled. If you're improving flow it will NOT learn down the benefits. I think people are expecting to throw a DP, charge piping and intake on this car and see an increase of 60hp. That's simply not going to happen but I'm sure the argument will continue...

WOW, you need to stop posting asap. Why do you think folks place drag-bags in the rear springs of a FWD car when drag racing? So more weight is over the front wheels. Drag-bags also decrease weight transfer which is beneficial for launching a FWD car you douche-funnel!

I think I have the answer to this weight reduction problem.

if you remove weight from the the front, then you will get less traction and very horrible handling unless you get a new suspenion to match.

if you remove weight from the rear of the car then you will get better traction but suffer in the handling department again.

removing weight in the front will cause the center weight to shift towards the rear of the car, amount dependent on how much you remove. You will also experience even more understeer than a FWD car normally comes with.

removing weight in the rear will cause the center weight to shift towards the front of the car, amount dependent on how much you remove. You will also experience an oversteer quality that most FWD cars normally DONT come with.

Now of the two location to remove weight, removing weight in the front might balance the cars center of gravity, and sacrifice acceleration, and sacrifice handling, but you will get even tire wear <-- benefit.

removing weight in the rear might cause the cars center of gravity to shift towards the front benefiting line acceleration from a stop (good for drag racing <-- benefit), and sacrifice handling, and increase tire wear on the front tires. Also for our cars, oversteer is looked at in a positive way for handling. not too much though, oversteer in a FWD vs RWD are two totally different things. RWD can control it, FWD can not.

apparently according to the link posted above, learn down is disabled. but the turbo will still self preserve.. so while yes boltons would make more power, there is some limit i guess

a k&n drop in filter might net you 2hp..
