Another ISSUE!...ugh
So i have been getting rough Start up issues for a while.... Evey since i fixed the misfire thing... but it only does it during cold starts once its warm its fine.
So i drove to work this morning, and i stopped at a light and i noticed...the vaccuum went down to 17.6 and it started sounding kind of Cammie...Like i had cams or something....So i was like what now!?
When i drive it doesn do it only at a stop...
So i get to work, park listen and still here...get out pop the hood...I can hear it from the engine bay...sounds normal...Get back in the car and i can hear it! So i put my ear as close as i can to the engine and i barely hear it...
the exhaust isnt like sputtering or anything....

If its the Subaru sound, that's probably something in the valve train. If its the cold start thing, it seems like people end up fixing it by replacing the evap solenoid on the intake manifold.
Have you looked into either of those?

mine does that as well. Cost starting and if its below 50 degrees outside i will start and it run fine for about 3-5 seconds, then bogs down to about 300 rpms then levels out and is fine. I dont have the issue while stopped tho
Will just unhooking the EVAP tell you if thats the issue?

I had extremely rough idle, resulting in misfiring sometimes only when cold.
Replaced plugs and misfire went away, gapped at .032
Then i had rough idle, which was my Evap Purge solenoid on the intake mani. Does the car stutter really bad when you get gas?

No around when i first got the car last year i did replaced the Evap sensor...
I hope its not a lash adjuster or something, I dont wanna make the mistake of buying parts and throwing them at the car again... i think the cold start thing, and now this is unrelated... It sounds kinda camy put inside the car...but not under the hood..
So weird and just started this morning!!!

I would probably start there OP just to see if the solenoid is stuck open or not.

I'll check it out, I doubt its that, unless those things go bad like that...
I guess im going to have to break down and take the damn vavle cover off...I wish autozone sold the vavle cover gasket...

If you're careful you won't need to replace the gasket. I've had my cover on and off a few times now with the same gasket with no leaks. Just don't go dropping it on the ground, poking it with a screw driver or over-tightening the valve cover when you put it back on and you'll be fine.
