Another reason to use T-bolt clamps ONLY

Ive had the hahn charge piping on my car since the day they were available. (BTW fitment was bad, almost as bad as the exhaust, I wont be buying any more hahn products).

When I purchased them I asked the person I spoke with who stated "you dont need the tbolt clamps, our worm clamps work just fine". Well thanks to that advice, I have a dent in my hood from the first time they blew off (about 6 months ago).

At that time I bought all the 2.5" tbolt clamps available locally, and replaced all of them on the hot side but didn't have enough to do the cold side. Haven't had any more issues from there. However, since I never got around to replacing the cold side.... BLAM. after almost 30k miles with the cheap-ass hahn-recommended worm clamps on the cold side, the pipe blew off. This time it sheared off my A/C pressure switch - goodbye A/C.

So the bottom line is, NEVER EVER EVER use worm clamps. Ask anyone that has a turbo setup and they should tell you the same.

Yeah, most of the clamps are 2.5" except for one 2.75" inch one on the actual throttle body.

I re-used the stock t-bolt clamps from the stock piping for some of it (turbo outlet to piping), but I purchased (total) 10 - 2.5" clamps and 2 (only used 1 but they came in pairs) 2.75" one.

yeah worm clamps shouldnt be used on anything except for small things. hell ive blown t bolts off on my camaro before which resulted in getting everything welded and having couplers only where its absolutely neccisary.

Not even stock has normal worm clamps. We have nice constant torque clamps.

The one of the throttle body is a worm clamp stock. I still have a worm clamp at the throttle body but T-bolts everywhere else.

I've been running 23psi for 12000 miles on Dejon piping.... with worm clamps. As long as you have good quality worm clamps and understand how to tighten them properly and not strip them, you are fine. Most of the ones i've seen come off are ones that people tightened to the point of stripping the clamp or where the clamp had started to twist due to over tightening.

I'm using 2.0 and 2.5 regular clamps on my injen (hotside) CP for my LNF, except when you try to connect the lower piece to the intercooler is when the t-bolt clamps come in handy. Drove 2000 miles without my pipe blowing off or causing any vibration.

And on a side note - anyone know which wires on our switch I can jumper to temporarily get my A/C working while I wait on the new part? Apparently this switch is a high/low switch, and has 3 wires. I don't have a wire diagram to look at.

ya i think hahn is more about quantity more than quality IMO

I put t-bolts on my injen cp and have not looked back. It is not worth the gamble for 10-20 bucks for a bunch of good t-bolts.

Another trick is to use your ladies hairspray inside the silicone to help bond it to the metal. Trust me it works great!
