Back to ZZP for round 2!
Back to ZZP for round 2!
Well a few weeks ago I shipped my car back out to ZZP for round 2. Last year I had them install their S256Et turbo kit, clutch, valve springs and a few others. The setup was awesome, made around 425whp but unfortunately my transmission didn’t think it was so cool and blew 3rd gear about 2 months later. I then had the trans upgraded to the ZZP stage 2 with 4.45 gears. To make a long story short the car pretty much just sat in my driveway for the next 9 months and I didn’t drive it due to a mechanical issue that no one seemed to be able to fix. I spoke to Matt, got the car back out to him and figured I would have them add a few goodies while they had it. I upgraded to Wiesco pistons, K1 rods, stage 1 cams w/fuel lobe mod, ARP studs, ATI balancer, 5th injector setup and switched her over to e85. Tim sent me the Dyno pulls yesterday and I was very happy, I can’t wait to get my car back home and drive it. The best pull was 505 WHP with 452 torque. Just wanted to thank them and share my experience.
Ya the trans don't like over 400tq. Mine seems to be okay though so far.
Jealous though. I just got their kit. The e85 full thing is what the end goal is.
505whp on their dyno is like 540 on any other dyno.
Awesome.
What was the problem with the car in the end?

I am no mechanic so maybe if matt from zzp sees this he can better elaborate, however it was a valve train/timing chain issue that lead to some other issues ruining my head and causing damage to the cam bearings I believe as well. ZZP took the time to diagnose the issue and resolve it, so all seems to be good to go now!
There was a broken timing chain guide, so the chain was loose and tore the plastic off the top guide and started grinding away metal.
Thanks for bringing your car back up for more mods, Bill. I hope you are able to enjoy it for a long time this time around. Of course you will have to use the power with reason. It's a lot of hp!

Really? guess they should get that fixed since it reads so low...
ALL dynos read differently and they are in MI which will vary with your different weather/altitude.
That is like saying I have a Million dollars in america so thats like a Billion dollars anywhere else... your statement is asinine.
Boosted06, great to hear the car is fixed and back to making sum serious HP, congrats.
l8r,
PD
