Best Intake?

I currently have an AEM cold air intake but I was thinking about buying a K&N SRI. Is there much differences between the two or has anyone had any problems with the K&N? The reason I am considering getting a new intake is so I do not need to worry about it sucking up water with the K&N SRI and it is easier to maintain. So I am just looking for some input on the K&N compared to AEM.

From the research that i have done it would seem the top three are AEM, K&N SRI and Airbox mod+K&N drop in filter + ZZP intake tube. After looking around for a while i noticed people making big power with all three, with no clear advantage going to any of the three, so i chose the most economical route, Airbox mod + K&N drop in + ZZP intake tube.

I ran a short ram in my Camry SC for 10 years until I traded it in for the Balt. It passed Calif smog all those years. Just find someone who's cool. I can tell you they don't give a ****...really. It all comes down to sniffer and OBD. Sniffer will soon be gone as well. BTW, ALL 2009 cars won't need to test for 6 years! If you want it, fuggin get it and forget about the smog ****..hell, I drive without a front lic plate. No problems there either and I've been stopped for speeding with no mention of the missing plate.

i've got the AEM and it causes mega surge... K&N short ram is what i plan on getting if i venture away from a stock airbox... otherwise i'll grab a ZZP tube.

LOL at SRI's.

You will loose tons of top end with a short ram. I have heard it from a good friend that went from a HAHN to the K&N

There is a thread on here somewhere about it. I will have one soon... full 3" intake. The hahn is amazing but with my new setup to go on the car the 3" will be helpful

Not yet, i am waiting on the tube. Like you i already had the drop in.

Until people can prove that they make more power or are faster with a particular intake over the Airbox+zzp tube inake, ill take my low cost highly effective solution and put the other 250 bucks i didnt spend on an intake to other go fast items.

On my 2871 setup...

I used a silicone coupler to the stock airbox with K&N drop in... and with the HAHN on it I picked up about 10whp and about 15whp on the top end.

I went Hahn CAI as well, but it was mainly because I'm picky about having too many mismatched parts on my car and ****.

The fewer brands, the better, as long as the quality is there (and from what I see, with Hahn, it's there).
