Billet s259et

She works!

Well after a long long day of installation at the shop (I was there from 10am - 1am) we finally got my Billet s259et on my car working properly.

We ran into an issue where the oil feed line into the turbo was leaking and we couldn't get it to stop. It seemed like the feed line and the turbo oil insert weren't matched properly and we got a tiny leak that wouldn't go away. So after troubleshooting it for hours (and tuning and dynoing another customers car) we finally got the leak to stop and to seal. By this time it was midnight and I was tired as hell and I said **** it, you don't need to break in a turbo. We let it idle for 15 minutes and I put it on the dyno for some initial tuning on pump gas. I know this turbo will be more in the zone at 30psi but I am not comfortable running that much boost on pump gas. I don't like anything higher than ~26psi.

I was amazed with the absence of lag. This is the Billet s259et with the larger exhaust wheel 64/74 (still .55AR) and the spool is absolutely amazing. Full boost at 4300 rpms. I got full spool at 4100 rpms on my s256et so I was overjoyed to only give up 200 rpms of spool.

Our results on the dyno:

We made 442whp at 7400rpm cutoff, but we think the turbo is not trying quite as hard as the s256et I had before. It seemed to love up top a bit more, and judging by compressor maps for other similar turbos (the efr 7163) I think this turbo will give alot more juice if we revved it to 8k. All in all, an extra 10whp reving to 8k, plus gaining 15whp from cams in the future - 460whp on pump at 26psi is quite nice.

We were having an issue with the car not being able to hold fuel pressure. On this run it went a tad lean and on the run before it went a tad rich. I'm not sure if anyone has had this problem before.

Our goals are next week to put some 116 unleaded race gas in it and make 500whp again on the stock motor (I made 500whp on the s256et at 29psi), after I sort out the fuel issue. I think it will make 500whp on 24psi. (I'm hoping to make a little more but soon the rods aren't going to like it)

Once again my mods:

ZZP Turbo Kit, s259et, Stock Cams, Stock Motor, 82lb Valvesprings, 4.45 Transmission.

Cheers.
