BNR installed....5th injector next
Oye pero mi Chico!!! Como esta todo? Anyways yea, thanks to your post that I read in another thread I'm going to be replacing my chain guides and replace or buy a née tensioner. When you replaced the seal did you put the same one that failed or a better one? I seriously think at least one of my chain guides has to be broken.

Pero bueno, que le voy hacer? LOL Bought a brand new head all stock and slapped her on with my turbo that got rebuilt by Bryan at BNR with the new wheels and such.
Anyways, I replaced the seal cause it was fraying. The reason for that was very high oil temps. You shouldnt need to replace it. Just buy a new tensioner and install it. New guides are a good idea. Id pop the VC off and check the head real quick to see whats up. Shine a light down into the timing area and see if the guides look ok.
Let me know how it goes bro. Good luck meng!
Yea that was from the timing components(Chain guides, shaving from the blown Tensioner). I'm just glad that I started the build now, I've replaced everything all timing components(including Performance AutoWerks Beefier Tensioner) and Main and Rod Bearing. ARP head studs, ARP rod bolts and the Carillo Rods, Forged Pistons etc.
shiiiit. I started getting that (grinding, heat shield vibrating) sound on start-ups recently, and my car is idling a little funny this weekend....
So, it was the timing chain thats making the noise???

Yes, when you start getting that noise generally your tensioner could be going bad or chain guide is broken. My situation was that my tensioner went back and my chain guides broke so the chain was slapping all around.
as for the timing tensioners to me they are disposable parts. they should be replaced after time if your beating on the car on the street or tracking it. the balance shaft tensioner i recommend replacing whenever you do any sort of servce with it and its removed. would it be harmed if reused(if its in good shape) then not at all but all it takes it a tiny bit of crap to get into it and its garbage.
reason im saying this, is a had a DIY rebuild come in and i re-timed the motor after doing valve springs for him and the balance shaft chain tensioner wouldnt even rotate nor compress back into its cylinder and it was brand new when the guy rebuild the motor. so just triple check and mark everything and anything you can to make sure you dont run yourself into a big hassle
Just make sure you take care of your car and have a good tune on it. Youl be set. I change my oil every 3-4k for piece of mind and i sea foam it every oil change as well. 52k and running strong still.
Yea they do, all new bearing though.
The build is being done by JR Competition. They are Corvette guys. Omiotek no offence taken. I've had the car for a year, previous owner had it for 5yrs. I'm going to have everything new so I'm not worried.

all good. yeah i get cars in all the time that are not taken care of and i would expect nothing less then shitty looking internals but the cars that come in with regular oil changes and maitence look like brand new motors inside for the most part.
I noticed mine makes noise on startup every now and then. Usually when the motor is cold and/or if it has been raining.
