the leak is a huge issue. if you need it welded, we can head down to mkc and get that done. any leak after the maf just narfed the tune.

p.s. we're not going to be sideways at 70 mph while airborne again either
once i fix everything ill give you a call

oh yea for all you guys that dont know,

when we were tuning, brian was driving my car. we were behind this pickup truck and the bed liner or cover came off and flew right at us. we ended up swerving into the median and got a little sideways at 70mph!

it was all good till we spotted a bump tho, you know those bumps in the median for the cops to do U turns on? we got a good foot or two of air and somehow didnt rollover, crash, or even damage my car other than get dirt/ grass all over my rims and underside.

scariest **** ive been thru with my car. lol. brian is a hell of a good driver for saving that.

When I had my dodge the crappy bed liner came up at the end by the cab once when I was doing about 80. I had no idea until I got to the bike shop I was heading to and saw it. First thing I thought was what if that thing flew out and caused a wreck.... I took some scrap wood from a pallet and put it in the bed so it didn't do that on the way home then I took it out and threw it away.

Are you sure there are no boost leaks? How does the bov attach? I tried silicone on mine once and it didn't work. As soon as it saw 25 lbs it blew open again. I had to have mine milled to seal right. You should be able to pressure test the system to at least 30 psi without it dropping for a while. when I had the dsm it would sit like that for a while before it would bleed anything off. Took a while to seal it all up. Spray soapy water on all couplers and connection. Some leaks you can't hear but they are still leaking. The soap will make it bubble. Good luck.

Also leaks are bad for your turbo because it has to work harder to reach desired boost. A sealed system is good for turbos. .

Small turbo with a small a/r. It's not going to hold (High) full boost to redline when I had my D44 it would fall from 29psi to about 24 at redline. Swapped out the MBC for a boost box..same thing.

i just thought of something. i have noticed my BOV is fluttering almost all the time under light acceleration. it never used to do that, maybe its related to that vacuum box under the intake mani?

and tightening the wga didnt do much except move my problem to the right

the car spikes higher and instead of dropping to 20psi, its dropping to 22psi. the wga doesnt need to be preloaded anymore, i must have a leak i cant find somewhere. going to rip out that vac box in a hour or so.

oh, boost leak checks are hard for me, i use a bike pump. lol.

i did too. held spool by only like 50-100 rpm. lol

UPDATE:

i decided to run just off wga alone.

car goes up to 15-16psi and stays there steady to 7k. maybe a MBC will help me out. just gotta get ahold of one.

I had a hallman boost controller. I really liked it never had a problem. That along with an external wastegate had solid boost until red line. They're fairly cheap too. I got mine at extremepsi.com

Or you could take a trip to home depot and make one.

if i could run an external wga i would, because its superior to an internally gated turbo. however id have to swap my exhaust mani and the turbo. lol

You really can't compare holding 15-16psi to 7k and 25-26psi to 7k. Completely different efficiency ranges for the turbo. The stock turbo will even hold 16psi to 7k no sweat. I've never seen a compressor map for the bnr turbo so I can't say for sure, but it really just sounds like it's running past it's efficiency range where your boost is falling off.

Hopefully the new controler helps you out

The slow spooling could just be in the tune. Now that you've changed things, get retuned.

Nice! Make a video of the boost gauge man and post it up.

I wonder if you're possibly getting the boost creep from the adjustments you made to the wg.

actually, after thinking about it, its not boost creep. my boost rises every gear. in 2nd im hitting like 25, in 3rd 26, in 4th, 27.

after i did some searching ive learned that this is normal for a lot of cars on MBC.
