boost problems...could it be the wastegate actuator????

Still having boost problems, besides the P2261 and another MAF code I have had, can't remember the number, on Friday night tried to get into it a little bit, it hit boost then gave me the P0234 overboost code.
The Forge BPV will be here tomorrow, but today I took out the Dejon spring and put the stock one back in, to see if that would clear up the boost problem and also took out my K&N filter and put a WIX air filter in an attempt to bring down my LTFT's. Going for a test ride the SS stumble at first then cleared up. Tried to induce boost, it did then lost it. And the turbo blade sounds like it's squealing at times. One of the guys on the HHR forum had similar problems and it turned out to be the Wastegate Actuator. Needs your thoughts or suggestions and is this part hard to change out? Thanks for any info..................................Tom

In my experience the most common cause for your problems is a IC pipe that is loosely connected. It may pop off just enough to loose boost, screw up the MAS calibration and even give a BOV error since it acts like a BOV opening, then closing.

thanks for the info, but that is one thing I do every so often, is to make sure all of my connections are tight. I did tighten everything up before the test drive. Sometimes it feels like when you first accelerate, the boost is there, then you let off the gas and press down again, no boost. Other times you press down and you can't even get 2 lb of boost. And the turbo blade making noise started over a week ago.

there are t-bolts on the air and IC pipes and some regular screw clamps in between, you need to use a screw driver and a ratchet to make sure they are all tight. If I remember correctly the t-bolt clams are 14mm. On the IC side close to the IC, I reposition the way that the t-bolt faces, so I could tighten it up from under the hood as opposed to under the car. They will become loose with all of the vibration under there, I always check them about every 5,000 miles or so.

misunderstood.......if it's the part I am thinking about, it has two nuts that keep the rod in adjustment, they should be tight. can't think of another way to test......
