theres 4 ways to go about this.....

1. dont relocate the maf at all and run an atmostpheric bov - no pros to this....the computer basically says where the hell did the air i just read go? it will cause a rich spike in the a/f ration and cause your car to bog. also it might cause other problems

2. run a block off plate and a maf relocation - your best bet. YOU NEED A TUNE TO RECALIBRATE THE MAF. by doing this you will allow your computer now reads the air AFTER its been blown off. the only bad thing to this is some cars tend to be a pia when tuning.

3. run the stock bpv with an intake and you will hear the bpv.

4. for all you that just want the sound. run the bpv and a bov together. waste of money but will give you the pssssssh sound.

I guess its personal preference but that 200-300 bucks for sound is kinda insane. (again not bashing you bro, after all its your car!) think about maybe a mod that will give you some HP. i have the hahn intake and when my boost passes 12-15psi it blows off LOUD, when its below that its a LOUD wooooosshhh sound. sounds great. with a nice tune that turbo spools quicker to higher boost levels and under a bridge you can rupture someones ear drums with that **** hahaha just FYI tho, cause its the best of both worlds, more power and great sound. people always tell me i have the loudest turbo theyve heard but its not overbearing like an SRT4 AKA dumptruck sound

The stock BPV works extremely well. Do you guys have an actual reason for wanting to change BOV's? I'd love to hear this.

I think the only reason is sound...lol that is why i want one but wont just because If i did i would do maf relocation and it would run including intake and pipes and bov, and tuning about a grand.

Exactly, there is no reason.

If all you want is the sound then a grand is a bit ridiculous to do it the right way, but if you'll be getting ic pipes and a tune anyway then it doesn't add that much on top.
If you get an intake pipe than the stock bov will be much more audible, probably a better way to go.

You can't just tune a BOv. There's is no way to tell how much air has left the system.

There's no amount of tuning you can do that will get a bov working right with the maf in the stock location, the tuning that you do when you relocate the maf is simply some minor maf adjustments to make it read correctly in its new location. Once you do that you can vent all you want because the bov is releasing air that the maf hasn't metered yet since the maf is located after the bov, currently its before the bov.

i have relocated maf with synapse bov, no you dont have to relocate the maf, but your going to run rich at shifts, and running both still cause you to run rich because the bov still is putting t he air to atmosphere. i did all this because stock bpv would open prematurely i guess due to 25psi to 26psi but also doing a gt28 or something that size shortly
