BOV Swap Questions (Yes another thread I'm sorry)
Hey guys,
So I did some searching and apparently I suck at it, but I wasn't able to find everything I needed. I picked up a 50mm JGS BOV last week and am looking buying a full charge pipe set-up and installing the BOV.
I just had a few questions as to WHAT I need to DO in order to do this RIGHT (This is where I struggle with my turbo knowledge..I'm not that proficient with it unfortunately)
-I read about relocating the MAF, why do I need to do this and how?
-I was looking at ZZP and OTTP for charge pipes, when it comes to installing the BOV, I will need a block off plate from what I read, are you guys welding on a bung and installing your BOV's that way? Are there ways to buy specific blow off plates that will adapt to your BOV?
-I am already HPP tuned, what will (if anything) will I have to change in the tune
-I read about people keeping their BPV's along with their BOV install, is this necessary? People were writing that they kept the BPV as a safety precaution.
-Also lastly, any pointers or advice for going about this the right way. I apologize for posting this when people probably ask this BS almost weekly (again I searched didn't find all my answers) but if there is another Thread about this feel free to post the link. I am NOT swapping out my stock IC yet, mostly because of finances haha.
Any and all information would be awesome, links to parts I'll need to make the install easier/work. Basically what I don't want to to happen is I go to do this on a weekend, then Monday rolls around and I can't drive my Coby because it's not driveable due to not having all parts needed, and having to drive my Trans am to work haha.
Thanks again.

Buy a treadstone block off plate. It's by far the best one.
Keeping th bpv is stupid......what's the point of adding a bov when your going to keep the bpv to do the same job. Adding an intake will cause you to hear your bpv just fine.
If your going to do a bov do it right and relocate the maf flange to the cold pipe and the bov flange on the hot side. Thr mad relocation is done by having the maf ensor flange welded to the cold side pipe and extending the wires down to it....... This will require tuning and even if you decide to do it the wrong way and keep the mad where it is you will have to have someone tune around your rich spikes the bov with cause the reason you relocate the maf is so that the maf reads after the air has been vented. Not relocating means your venting metered air.
There's always the option to do a recirculated bov but again this is for boost applications where the bpv can't handle it in my opinion or for guys that want to have a bov and not relocate the maf. Again pointless if your not on a big turbo or are looking for noise
.
You will have to weld a flange to the pipe but any companies that build piping should be able to do it for you with no problems so when you receive the pipe you won't have to have it done.
I think zzp offers a mad relocstion pipe but don't quote me on that.

IV been playing around with a bov for a month now. My advice to u, stay away from it. Stick to stock bpv. But if u are set on one, get zzp lower charge pipe with maf relocate. And tune properly for it with a good tuner. Otherwise ur gonna have nothing but problems. Bov is just another place u can have a boost leak. Mine doesn't seal properly so I can't even boost properly. Not worth it. I had to find out for myself, so I could steer others clear of the bad choice. Unless u do it right. Plus, on the lnf , bov just don't seem to open fast enough to avoid flutter
All these points are true. Treadstone is good if u weld nipple on it but it has noaf relocate, unless u can pick it as option.
I was talking about treadstones bpv block off not their cold side....
Anyways if you invnest in a good bov you won't have issues....it's when you buy junk knock offs they leak and do not seal..... The tial valves are buy far the best
