Catless Downpipe + muffler delete =???
It is a catless 3 inch downpipe with a 3 inch exhaust, no muffler no resonator just straight pipe. If you do a muffler delete just take a sawzall to the pipe right before and after the muffler. When its out put in the new section. If you go to a muffler shop have them cut a section of 2.5 inch pipe and expand the ends so you can slip it over the pipes on each side where the muffler was. Then go scoop up some exhaust "C" clamps. You can probably get them at NAPA or something. That is your how to. the whole thing should take like 10 minutes.
this thread is starting to make me rethink my intended purchase...
or at least it did with the catless headpipe & stock exhaust posts...
anyone have a 'catted-headpipe' with the stock exhaust with a video to share??
If so, I might buy the headpipe well in advance to the rest of the exhaust...

I have a catted ZZP downpipe with stock catback exhaust. I can try to take a video this weekend. It's not a big difference in sound, slightly louder and a little deeper growl. Personally, I like it, more power, very subtle sounding, and I can still listen to the stereo with no problem.

I didn't think anyone here would be able to help out...
I cannot stand how quiet my car is...
I like to be able to hear it...
often at idle, I have to stop to check if it's running...
it's almost unnerving...
I've been driving for just over fifteen years, and this car is by far the quietest I've ever driven...
compared to my other cars, this one just doesn't seem to fit in...
kinda get's me thinking of this Sesame Street skit from days bygone...

my '70 Firebird takes the cake;
conservative 2.25" smooth bent (not mandrel, but not wrinkle bends either);
custom 'X' pipe;
Dynomax crossflow muffler (originally designed fro the late RWD Buick GN/GNx...
that makes me want to go home and start the car up now...
I really need to start rebuilding it...
if we're talking about other cars...

Here is my sound clip of a catted downpipe and stock catback. At the end when I gave it a little rev, it sounds like the car was cutting out, but that was just the crappy mic on my camera.

So made the plunge today, Catless DP and no muffler, had a shop chop it off and put some pipe with the tip back on. It's not that loud to me (other car is a 00' Z28 Long tubes w/ SLP loud mouth) but maybe because I grew up on V8s. It doesn't get raspy like a honda or near as loud thanks to the turbo. It's just loud enough so you know this ain't your sister's cobalt.
