CEL "check gas cap"

CEL "check gas cap"

hey guys, my 08 LNF said on my dash "check gas cap" and then threw a CEL. i wish i had the code number but i dont right this second. the gas cap was on but i put a new gas cap on it for my car to see if that would fix it. after driving it a few times same exact thing happened. anybody know what this could be? thanks!

Check for a leak on the filler neck.

Funny, I just had that pop up, but had no code. I made sure the cap was snug, and it hasn't come back yet. Yesterday, I did notice my car almost stalled after starting it, lol. It could be P0496, in which the EVAP purge solenoid is the culprit. I checked mine, and I couldn't blow through it. Easy to check it (2 min. or less). So we don't play the guessing game, we need the code.


What are your mods, and did you recently tune your car?

thanks! i will give that a check...i have catless dp, CAI, IC piping, and trifecta tune. i havent had any issues with the car as far as it starting up or running everything has been completely normal but it threw a code and keeps saying "check gas cap" even though i know the gas cap is plenty tight haha

Yeah, just check that solenoid and give us an update.

Yeah Matt mine was doing that same thing and it ended up being that front evap solenoid. If you don't need it today, check ebay. I got one for $3 on there.
