midrange knock on interceptor

i noticed that the past 2 days ive been getting some KR in the mid range. when i go WOT my scan gauge will read 2.9, then it goes to 1.4 at around 5k. after about 5500rpm my gauge shows 0 knock until redline.

any ideas what could be causing this? bad gas possibly? its only done it the past couple days.

Did you recently fill up with gas? If so, I'd go with that theory (shitty gas/less-than-optimal).

Cool. Yeah, it's just this time of the year for crappy gas. I was at Whiteman AFB for four years (Knob Noster, MO), and they only had up to 91 octane (mostly 89). I'm so glad Georgia has 93, lol.

Mine has been doing that too. I get at most 2.9 in mid range when the car isn't at optimal temp. I had filled up at Kroger gas prior but I dont know what is causing it either. we only have 91 here

Sounds like a combination of bad gas and tip-in KR. The drop off you're seeing is the decay rate (it's slow as F on the LNF).

Does it do it in all gears or is it more load specific with regard to 3rd and 4th?

Lol. I turned the boost down a couple psi, put in shell gas and reset the ecu. So far so good. No more kr.
