Hey guys my cel has been poping on and off over the last few weeks. The code is p0496 high purge flow. I havnt had much time to look into it and was hoping somebody has had this code pop up and point me in the right direction so i dont have to pull out a flow chart and spend alotta time looking for a simple fix. I also been getting the check gas cap message on the instrument cluster from time to time. The 2 prolly go hand and hand being an evap fault. Any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanx in advance-Gary

 

Sounds like it's a faulty evap purge valve....unplug the purge solenoi and see if gets any better, or just take it to the dealer.

Cool..... thanx i was hoping to avoid going to the stealership due to my car being far from stock condition but i guess i will go eventually and pray they dont void my warranty. Thanx again guys i was hoping they forgot to hook up a hose or sumpin when my car was in a accident awhile back and the intercooler,rad,condensor pretty much everything in the front of the car is new,i dont think its related though

 

I got the code P0497...which is the same except "low" purge flow. Thoughts and/or ideas?

 

when was the last time you guys filled up. double check your gas caps.
