Change oil before tuning?
Change oil before tuning?
Car reads about 35% oil life left right now and I am going in to get retuned this Saturday.
I've always wondered this anyways, but would it make a difference if my car had fresh oil compared to the 35% life it has left right now?
Basically, should I change my oil before getting tuned?

I would/have. But I'm pretty **** about my oil changes. Before long trips, tunes or the track if it reads below 75% I'll change it. I don't really follow the life monitor anyway, it's 3000 miles or six months. No if's, and's, or but's. Since you're at 35%, I would change it.

i always do it when it goes under 50
I'd change it first.
My last used oil analysis was at 5k miles and 57% life left by the OLM. Everything was in good shape, below the avgs for our engine and they recommended going 7k the next change. That'd put me around 38% and I do all freeway miles. I'm at 47k miles BTW.
I'll keep changing it at 5k.
