Here's a couple pictures of the filter in our competitors configuration. I made sure to get a picture of the ground, and even a tape measure, to show the relation of the filter to a potential puddle.

As I mentioned earlier, the longer style intake will pull colder air from idle but once the car is moving, it's not going to perform any better than the short style intake. It comes down to each owners available funds and comfort level with driving their car with the filter so low to the ground. With a solid 15 HP, I personally would not run the longer intake. But we will certainly build one if customers prefer it.
The lower piece I was referring to was from your SRI back to the turbo.

The stock tubing to the turbo, personally I wouldn't like. If I order I would like for the SRI to go all the way back to the turbo. You have my business then.

Maybe you guys could make some enclosure around the short ram intake to keep the engine heat away.

I am just curious to see what the gain would be on the dyno compared to the current version.

Thats what I love. You know a company that keeps price in mind, makes a great product, and actually listens and adapts to what we say! A++ When you get everything finalized, you got my buisness!!!

id be interested in the sri if you went back to the turbo. also id be interested in getting the piping powder coated since i am interested in having the engine bay look good. i realize this would probably up the price a lil but i just wanted to make these suggestions and see what you could come up with.

Yes it seems the only company that sells a SRI is dejon powerhouse so I believe CIA can price this cheap and sell sell sell. Dejon's is only like $109 (without filter) so i am guessing they don't cost much to make.

I'm at home now everyone so I can not post any more pictures right now.

Thanks for all your comments. As mentioned above we do work hard to listen to our customers demands, feedback, requests, etc. As many companies talk abot their "custom designs", we actually "customize" our designs based on what YOU want. Not based on what makes the most money for the least amount of effort using the cheapest materials and parts available. There's enough of those companies around. We have no desire to be another.

Anyways, this Friday Dan is coming back up for the day. (At least the day). We'll see what happens but maybe I can get him to pull his bumper cover again so we can do the longer style cold air kit. Anyways, we will plan to offer you all a "modular intake kit". meaning you can order it pretty much any way you prefer:
1. Short style as pictured above.
2. Short style with turbo adapter.
3. Short style with lnger filter extension added to mount filter behind the bumper.
4. The complete kit.

Options available will be:
Powder coated steel
Ceramic coated steel
304 stainless steel
mirror polished 304 stainless steel
(Possibly carbon fiber)

If you have any other requests, lets here them now before Friday.

Thanks again everyone. It's been a lot of fun working with all of you.

How much HP difference do you think the K&N drop in does? That is what I have right now.

LOL. I can't get use to the "text" style writing either. My 12 year old son was talking "text" to me last night. I told him he better start using full sentences or he wasn't going to be able to.

Anyways, as asked above, we did talk about making a filter enclosure with the cold air tube being the only thing to extend down into the bumper area. There isn't very much room but we'll take another look this wek.

How much of a power difference does the K&N make as compared to the S&B? That's a good question. If I have time, I'll run down to one of the other local shops and pick-up a K&N of the same exact size. It wont be a big deal to test the filters back to back to answer this question exactly.

Also, I forgot to mention the flow bench results for the cold side charge piping. Stock was 430 cfm and 2 1/2" mandrel bent tubing was 440 cfm. Not a very big difference and probably not woth the cost of the cold side tubing once we make and weld the sensor flange on, powder coat and ship. So, we will go ahead and dyno test the cold side tubing on Friday: stock and then the mandrel bent part. I honestly don't think it's going to make much difference. If not, we will make it optional when ordering our charge pipe kit.

I think he means swapping the stock filter out with a K&N drop in replacement.

Hmmm? Not sure. I'll try to get one of those for Friday as well. Since we are dyno testing, we might as well test everything possible while we have the car on the rack. After i have all this info compiled, I'm going to request a "sticky". I doubt anyone is ever going to do as much dyno testing, tuning and flow bench testing on so many parts, individually, as we are. But that's always the case.

You know why I like you? Because you are up till 4:30 AM answering questions.

I like to see all of the testing being done, and the fact that we can buy just about anything from you in modular pieces. I too would be interested in a SRI that replaces the entire intake piping back to the turbo. I'll be patiently waiting for friday.
