I usually wait about 1-2 minutes of warmup/ light driving. That's it, cat warmup cycle plus a scoot to the end of the street then I get on it. Though not that hard, I live in residential.
i let the car warm up 3minutes before i drive, and i can still get this to occur. its on first hard accel.. also popped a p0103 today while at op temp driving in rainy conditions. guess ill boost leak test again
Letting the car warm up idling for 3minutes is useless, idling a car does not effectively warm it up. Let it idle for 30-45seconds enough to heat the oil up some, then take it easy driving until the engine coolant temps reach 160, then have fun.
That's a big no no man I wake up start my car then do my personal hygiene by the time I'm ready to head to base she's at 187 n I'm gud to go plus I'm turbo swap so I make sure I hav a gud warmup, just stop doing it n hopefully u HAVENT damaged anything
6 one way half dozen the other.
Excessive idling causes valve coking with direct injection and you waste excess fuel by using idle load to warm it up, the engine oil is designed the lubricate at lower temps but better at operating temps, that's why you drive easy till its at 160. Then have fun, as to the OP the clicking who knows could be any number of things

Boosting your car before 160ish... oh god
