Clutch Failure w/pic

Here is a picture of the clutch disc that I just pulled from my 08 TC. The wear on the disc, pressure plate, and flywheel looked great. Both the pressure plate and flywheel still had machining marks on them from their original surfacing. The car has 79K miles and has been Trifecta tuned for about 72K. I replaced the clutch with a GMPP kit and all seems well. My first symptoms of this were shifting problems. The car didn't want to go into gear. No grinding, just hit a wall. Then shortly after, a shrill noise from the bell housing when letting out on the clutch. It appears the noise was from the disc cocking up and dragging the pressure plate. I have never had or saw a disc fail like this but it did. Two of the tie bars had the ears gone. The other two that were holding the plate stack together were getting pretty thin on the ends.

81000 on stock clutch with 24 psi e47 trifecta tune(tuned since 50000), very little slippage! I anticipate failure soon though....

You got some good miles out of that stock clutch tuned. How's the gmpp treating you

Honestly, the friction surface on that clutch had a ton of miles left in it which surprised me. The GMPP clutch feels stock so far and seems to hold fine with 0 slippage. At lower RPMS in higher gears at full boost, the original clutch would slip, but I always just drove around it since I knew it would happen. The GMPP seems to hold it fine for now. I am still breaking it in but have tested the waters a little bit with it and all is well.

Same here 93k with tune and stock clutch. But I do want to replace soon, because I know it's not going to last long
