Clutch slip in 3rd 4th and 5th under boost... sooo

so I'been getting some clutch slippage since the HP tune primarily in 3rd and 4th...I'm thinking about the possibility of a clutch upgrade... Im NOT looking for one that feels like pressing on a 30lb weight... so what's the best for cheap... or , is it more feesable to head back to the dealer...wipe out the tune and go back to stage 1 and take it in... thoughts?

hey thanks for that.. I'll definately check it out.. have you used the stage 2? is it fairly easy to engage? or is it heavy... I hate a heavy clutch... I drive city more often so Im not looking to have a incredible hulk left leg and fall over when I get out to walk lol

and as for the RPM's 3000- to about 5500..but primarily under boost where the TQ really picks up...

Trying to take it in wouldn't do you any good anyhow. They don't warrany clutches, it's a wear item. It'd be like trying to get them to warranty your break pads.

Yea my clutch started slipping a bit after the tune. But only under like 3k.... if im in 1-2-3 2500rpm or above and punch it its fine but i havent tried 4th... but i tried 5th because someone else told me about the clutch slipping after his tune and boom 2700rpm in 5th gave it some and slipped alittle.... i haven done since and i wouldnt do it at all anyways but kindof sucks..

You guys do realize that your clutch is going to glaze over and eventually stop slipping right? I dyno'd at 402 WTQ on the original OEM clutch my car came with.

With the lnf I don't recommend anything under the ky clutch stage three. Pedal pressure is very minimal.

Lulz, I have people on a stock clutch that dynoed 440-450 ft lbs. It's the fact of how long it lasts.

Def KY Clutches. Just installed mine (Stage 3) yesterday and the pedal feels like nothing. It's so light and easy to press. Very little chatter when cold and after a few miles of driving it engages like stock with 0 chatter.

Worth every cent.

It's easy to make a tune and not have a slipping clutch, its all about boost ramp. Some like it some don't.

yeah I was under the impression that once the clutch develops flat spots, that its a permanent thing and will only make the slipping worse over time... and as for bringing it in, I appreciate that note... I thought it might be covered under the powertrain... I've had the tune for about 4months...I dont really work the car over much at all to be honest.. I realized fast that 2nd gear is kinda raunchy when I got on it.. so, I did some decent pulls from 40-90mph in 3rd a few times and really started noticing it only in the last 2-3weeks.. I wasn't sure if was colder temps.. but I thought that was really not the case with this issue... so I've been weighing my options...

To keep my clutch from slipping I never go WOT under 65mph in 3rd. 2nd is ok cuz all it does is spin. I have at least 380-400 wtq and the stocker is holding up.

i've heard gmpp clutch is good for pedal feel and 300 wtq. i'm gonna get that one.

even if its not slipping anymore its still probably not getting all my power to the wheels right

That's your problem right there. You shouldn't be WOT in 3rd at 40 mph.

Last dyno was 320ish whp and 383wtq. The stock clutch only slipped a little but it was noticeable - wasn't going ot last.

I had to replace my tranny anyway so while I was in there I did new stock flywheel, KY Stage 3 clutch and new throw out bearing. New mounts as well.

I plan on doing the EFR Turbo when it comes out so I'm already prepaired to put the power down
