Haha dude, I can sympathize 110%... um as far as codes returning/not returning... depending on the code, it has to see a certain number of cycles with the error present to throw the code... have you disconnected the battery? The P2237 evap system code thing should go off if the gas cap was screwed on and sealed properly.

Ummm.. hey just a quick question... will undoing the battery and letting things re-set harm the new tune in any way?

boy that's probably a real noob question I bet lol...

well I did it.. so far the CEL has remained off... the A/F at idle is stable... cruising at 45mph in 4th though.. its all over the place... 13.3 up to 17.0.. increase the throttle response and bring the speed up to 60.. its more stable... 14.4 to 15.1 ... tried dropping back down to 35mph in 3rd.. then goosed it up to 70.. 14.6 to 14.8 the whole way... that's what I noticed anyway.. so I guess we'll see if the code pops back up here soon or not

A spike to 17 might be from letting off the throttle. I knowticed that myself. If you just get on the throttle you will see it spike 12 or lower for a brief second. It's just that information travels alittle slower than the signal for throttle, lol.

Is the 17 spike with the cruise control on? Remember that the C.C. on cars does the same thing as you would do to slow down... it lest off the gas, which due to the DFCO makes your car spike lean... its ok though cuz timing is probably like -abazillion so your car is barely running and not under even the slightest load

no it was all manual driving... to be fair.. that first spike was probably me cruising... keeping the speed stable... which I guess is fairly similar to CC maybe...

I've been having a p2237 pop up once in awhile too the last few months. The only thing I've noticed is that its always low 50s and it happens like once every few weeks.

AFR is a good tool to see how your engine i sperforming under load not necessarily when you are cruising around. But, in the interest of science... I looked at my rpd today to see if I could correlate any AFR readings to your car... Mine will see anything from around 12 on a shift (I have a BOV so it richens on shifts) to 18 when the DFCO kicks in... On cruise it changes when I'm going up or down hill even when I am making a conscious effort to keep my foot steady I will see anywhere from 14.0 to 16.0 depending on up or down hill travel.

you know the sucky part about science.. is that to have an objective analysis into what may be causing these issues, like emprical data; one would think that trend data would be something that's pretty important in this case.. but I as a terrible scientist, never really payed attention to the RPD and the A/F's prior to the tune... so I can not say with accuracy that what I see now.. is considered "normal".... (personal fail ) ok.. so that said, I'm going to discontinue looking at the RDP unless I am under WOT @ 1:1 (3rd gear)

as to the codes.. since having the codes drop off... they have not returned yet... and I'm stopping at autozone or NAPA to have them check the gas cap tomorrow.. I'll be bouncing around the egine bay as well.. looking for frayed wires too...

I think your AFRs are normal. I have two ECUs. One with the factory parameters and the other with the BYT 24psi tune. The difference I see is very minimal. I get fuel trims in the -4.0 to -1.5 range with factory parameters and my bolt ons.

I get -1.5 to +1.5 with the BYT tune.

I did the same ****... human nature I think. Don't look at something til there is a problem haha.. I remember when I got the car saying "**** all the rest of the gauges where is my boost!" Now I leave it on the AFR screen almost all the time haha.

yeahh... lol RyRides.. I'm gonna be tracking it much more often since the code removal and see what happens..

CudaJoe: thanks for that information... I should have done a better job with the A/F tracking prior to the GMS1, with it... and now with the HP... but since that's impossible now... I'll just be better at keeping a good look at things.

also.. does someone have a picture of where that sensor I was gonna look at for frayed wiring.... I thought someone said its on the intake Manifold... Im not sure what I be lookin for.... any distinguishing markings or colors?

We concluded that it mught be the evap solenoid right? or the purge valve? The solenoid is on the intake manifold I think... look just to the right of the yellow dipstick ring... it is attached to the front of the intake mani... look for the black shiny plastic hose running to the back of the motor, I think that's what you are looking for.
