Cracking IC Questions?

I hear the IC is prone to cracking when tuned or with aftermarket charge pipes. I also hear it is prone to crack when it is cold out. Do they crack when it's warm out? Do they only crack when under boost and it's cold? I guess my main concern is that I do not want to buy an IC if I don't need to. In the winter my car does not see anything more than 4PSI and it doesn't go above 0 until its at operating temp. I will be getting tuned in April or May and with the stock IC and piping I was thinking about keeping it safe at 19 or 20 PSI because I don't want to blow off the stock hot side charge pipe or crack the end tank.

Next I was thinking about going with the ZZP hot side charge pipe because I would feel safer running 21-22 PSI but I do not want to crack the end tank.

If something was to crack while I was at home it's not a big deal, but this summer I am going on the Hot Rod Power Tour and do not want something to break.

Thoughts, comments, concerns, criticism, experience, anything and everything is welcome and appreciated

Thanks

The plastic is more prone to crack in cold weather and under higher boost. That's not to say it always will and that's not to say it never cracks in warm weather and low boost. One of the biggest problems with cracking is hitting it on stuff.

This. Hitting the drip tray is the usual suspect.
