Custom exhaust help

So, I have decided that I want to go with a custom 3" cat-back for my SS.

I have no real place or idea to start.

I have an exhaust shop lined up, but don't know if I should get a resonator and a muffler, a resonator no muffler, or a no resonator, and just a muffler, or a straight three inch pipe from the cat back.

Muffler suggestions?

Resonator suggestions?

It is going to be 3" regardless.

Any help would be appreciated.

3" Mandrel Bent
No Muffler
1 to 2 Resonators

Delete the cat... you don't need it, you have a Turbo.

I will eventually with a 3" catless DP.

Problem is...I know for A FACT...that the guy that is doing my exhaust wants, NO parts of messing with it.

Synapse has a nice piece for 300 bones.

But it would be nice to pay that much total, from the turbo back.

Starting to understand that no cat back should cost me 600 bucks.

Bump for the people who are starting to roll in

**** that!

The exhaust set up on a SS/TC is about the same as a SC...only there is a turbo coming off the back...and I know I could score the whole thing for under 500 bucks, including the synapse DP.

just because there is a snail in the exhaust doesn't mean the car no longer has emissions...

No ****. I didn't realize scummy people had the money to purchase brand new vehicles.

Now for a 3" cat back...I would go with a Magnaflow muffler and resonator in the stock locations, full 3" mandrel bends...this would not be a cheap exhaust though...

Nothing turing off p0420 with HPTuners wouldn't lettme pass emissions with.

Of course the car still has "emissions", but a turbo usually acts just like a cat because they are heat magnets... so you really don't need a cat when you have a turbo. Thanks for playing.

Case and point.

Just because Map doesn't think the world should mod their cars like most people's parents do...doesn't mean I can't, or will listen to people who go:

"ISn't IT FAST enough?"

Yes...that was me including both of ya

Now cmon hookers.

I know someone has to know about this.

3" pipe to a muffler.

the guy in town who built a custom turbo on his ss/sc did that with some dynomax or w/e muffler and it sounds really good and deep.

dont bullshit with resenators, just go right to the muffler.

arnt those race series mufflers made for v8's and such...

a guy in town had a race series on his car..and it was raspy, raspier then my old setup...

regardless, any 3 inch muffler wont sound raspy since your turbo is silencing alot of the sound coming into the exhaust.

This is what I did on my first exhaust Steddy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...=p4506.c0.m245

Great quality and they do a great job cleaning the sound up. I would use two of these.

Cause of no turbo, I had to put a muffler on, but you shouldn't have to...
