I just got me Dejon intake, Do you need a tune after you install this? I didnt install it yet but saw some people on here had some probs with theres. Is there any intakes that you can get that you dont need a tune? I have a drop in k&n right now But wanted to replace the whole intake,

I am taking mine off just now for hesitation under light load I know its throwing the MAF tables some. I would just not recommend getting it...waste of money to be honest...they say the stock intake is good for quite a bit.

There is a thread on all the intakes and the skews in LTFT's they cause. I logged +12 skew on my AEM CAIbefore retuning for it, IIRC, Terminator2 logged -7 for the Dejon SRI. I had a Dejon SRI on for a month or so but took it off. Wasn't pleased with the drivability.

Here's the other thread...

can some1 please explain to me the driveability issues people see from intakes? i have a dejon SRI and when i hit the gas the car takes off, my turbo goes PSSSSSSSS from the intake and then when I let off it goes PSHHHHHHH. Where is there a driveability issue. What am I not understanding about this?

YMMV, but I noticed a hesitation and lag at part throttle after it warmed up. IIRC, around -5"vac to 0 boost. I also had many rubbing issues that I had to pad for (A/C line?) and had to seal the breather line up on the connection. Just wasn't pleased with the whole package.

Keep in mind too that each car is a little different in how well it takes to mods and tunes. Maybe your setup just mixes well with your car.

i noticed when im driving normally I can have a bit hesitation issues sometimes but i blamed it on the tune, since it only seemed to happen after the tune

When you got tuned, did they recalibrate for your intake? That may be a part of it... and if it isn't, it might still be a bit of a solution for what you're describing.

Just took the dejon intake off and all hesitation problems are gone. I am going to see when I do get retuned after i get my downpipe if Vince can tune for the intake as well. Just have to wait and see.

When you had your intake installed how did you put on the steelbraded hose? On the stock intake it clips on on the Dejon it just slides on I didnt want it to blow off when Im driving

The slide in method never came out.....but as said unless you have a tune I would not recommend a intake I have learnt this first hand. Now since I have put the stock intake back on the spool seems to be quicker no hesitation or lag. Very happy I took it off. Also the sound is great in the beginning but after a while it gets annoying.
