u wont notice it.

some peopls burned after 10K

got to remember,.

people who design these turbos are good, they wouldnt put a lesser spring in just to **** us off. and un "upgrade" spring for 10 bucks? come on

its turning out to be faulty after miles.

Im not going to trust it.

its like we dont know what toons are safe until miles are on the car.

like these people saying running richer is giving more HP. yeah but we dont know how it is hurting the car till the long run

i dont want to have to go replace me turbo sooner than later. unless its a bigger turbo.

Terminator....

Did you notice any loss in boost?
I just went out for a 10 minute drive around the rural highways. If there's a power difference I didn't really notice it. It does appear that I lost some boost though. I did just do a short drive anyway. So maybe I'm seeing things.

I mean I'll leave the stock spring in as I'd rather have reliability than a few extra ponies but I thought I'd ask if you've had a chance to test it out or not and what you thought.

No it holds 22-23 psi still. What psi were you seeing before vs. now?

Well... you know I might just be seeing things.

I would swear that it was 21.5-22 before and more like 20.5-21 now.
I assume a tune will hold the same boost regardless of outside temp. But it is colder today. The coolant temp wouldn't rise above 189-190.
I'll have to leave it on there for a while. Maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me.

That is it right there it was reaching the target airload more easily is all. . As long as you made sure you centered the BPV diaphram it should never leak boost.

I think I might just check that second one again. Maybe I didn't get it centered. But you're saying that since it's colder it was just reaching it's target earlier? Meaning algorithm... said based on temp (density of the air) and air flow that it had reached the oxygen content needed? Did that just make sense? LOL

The difference in density means the turbo will be able to reach its target airmass ( not pressure) more easily so the ECM will open the wastegate a little sooner 20-21 psi vs 22 psi. . It should be just fine. If it was leaking it would be loosing more pressure than that IMHO.

Cool... thanks for the explanation. I won't worry about it then.

This spring does nothing that ou can hear or feel so it's not worth the $12shipped.... It will cause drivability issues un-tuned... it'll work fine on a tuned car..... The spring is WAYYYY to firm, more than twice as firm as the stock spring and will cause some problems on a stock car ..

the spring will do its job, the bearings in the turbo and the solenoid, eventually will not...

The stock BOV does NOT leak it has a "GASKET", were not pushing 40 psi.... Did you really think the engineers slighted you for 10 bucks....

I was going to take mine out this morning but I didnt have time. Itll be coming out Sunday morning. The main thing is I have noticed more and more frequent fluttering. It looks like Im gonna have to pull the intake back from the turbo because the coupler is blocking me from getting to one of the bolts on the BPV cover. Shouldnt be hard, itll just take a little longer lining the intake back up when Im done.

Just out of curiousity, what would the symptoms of a burned out solenoid be? No boost at all?

No boost or no bypass at all depending on the position it sticks in. Either way it is not good.

Meh, Increased boost seals it better actually.

i took mine out friday. after comparing the springs, the stock spring just makes more sense to have in there.

the turbo wasnt designed for the stronger spring, especially with a stock tune, so why have it in there?

if you feel the upgraded spring, you can clearly tell that overtime it will loose its tightness and obviously thats bad news for the turbo. the stock spring was used for the fact that it would last over a long time, i really dont think GM would skimp on such an inexpensive part just to stiff us and save money.

it makes the most sense to me to just keep in the stock spring regardless, really dont want to hurt my car that bad.

When i put it in it made me have turbo flutter. took it out and turbo flutter was gone!
my recommendation....skip it. spend the ten bucks on a car wash... :P

anyone know where you can find a stock spring? lol

I seem to have lost mine....

I don't know how I would go about just getting a spring to replace it..........because I have nothing to compare to now, damn....

I saw that little bitch the other day as well and have turned my room upside down looking for it... no luck...

a part # would be great

Dealership. It is the BPV spring IDK what the part numbers is. I would ask Maven if I were you. He will know.

I wanted to avoid possible problems so I removed my spring and put the stocker back in. The Dejon spring has too great of a spring rate so it does not open easily or quickly enough to vent properly. That causes mild compressor surge which is very harmful to the turbo over time.
