Are you using the stock size wheels/tire combo? Speedo is calibrated to that.

Pretty quick. I think our cars would make a pretty fun run.

Too bad there aren't more Cobalts like this. How much more boost are you going to throw at it?

Come spring it may have a bigger turbo, not sure yet, but it will have a built motor and will push it till it runs out of fuel.

I wish I could do alot more but I'm strapped on funds. I will be at my turbo's limit and I really don't want to go any higher on the stock internals though many get away with it. I still have to buy wheels/slicks and all that crap.

Have you run it NLS yet? Make a big diff? I don't know if you looked at that one vid I posted a couple of months ago but shifts suck if I'm not REALLY quick on them. I have to wait a a bit for it to spool back up. Can't wait to get a WOT to have that feature.

Not much faster than this:

YouTube - Backyard Turbo - 09 Cobalt SS/TC - HP Tuned

I say go a bigger turbo. But good luck finding a trans that will hold all that power your built motor could handle.

This has really made me re-think my turbo swap, the stock turbo when tuned right is pretty quick for what it is. Especially the 6 grand this swap is going to take.

s256 might be a different story.

Although it may be because the speedo in our cars are slow. I still wouldn't push more than 24psi, even on a bigger more efficient turbo. Do the pistons, maybe that will allow you to make 28,29psi.

It has everything to do with the speedo being slow because that's what you're basing it off of. Also, you can't run a whole lot of boost with the stock turbo because it creates heat as it runs out of efficiency. A larger, more efficient turbo can run more boost without creating a ton of heat, safely. Besides, it's all in the tune and with running meth and keeping IAT down, then there's no reason that his motor won't last on 4xx whp+.

He got there like twice as fast as that vid. IMO that TC looked sluggish.

It wasn't that sluggish. I want to see a 60-100 pull in that tc with meth tune BYT was talking about on a post a few weeks ago. 400tq 356whp. He also took a run at it below 60, vs starting the pull at 70ish, which is harder to get going.

I'm not saying it's not faster. Don't get me wrong. I want to do this kit, I just want to make sure I get my money's worth. :P
