I have replaced my evap purge valve 4 times in 91k miles. I have some in the glove box. 497, 496 always come up when it goes out. Car behaves very bad.

I'm not going to reflash the gms1. I already sold my hpt. Also unplugged and capped is a bandaid with out a full idea of what the actual issue is.

Sorry, was just being simple minded.

The issue is a cheap part that continues to fail, either stuck open or closed.

Also, it's not a bandaid if you are properly tuned for it as the car will rely solely on STFT (factory WB and internal fueling corrections are extremely quick) which will allow for an overall improvement in driveability and overall performance.

However, not everyone can do this and I completely understand not wanting to go through the hassle. Again, sorry for the smart assed response.

haha no I got ya. You have to be careful who you talk to. THe old generation on here from back in the day are fine to joke with as they know a lot. The newbies that come on from fb etc. Just ask q's about ebay parts and stupid things that are already known and posted about but they lack the search...

Yeah. If I still had hpt I could tune it out...But it was a lot to f with, so I guess I'll keep buying parts. As you see I've had it since new 2009 w/ only 35k miles on it as of today...the new evap should last a few years

Out of those three parts, is it one, two or all that break?

Yes sir, that's the bitch. I have always wondered if it's the disconnected vacuum tank or something causing this for me. Not too worried as it's so easy to replace.
