Do I have to be in Competitive mode for NLS?

I was showing a friend my car and I put it in competitive mode and he was impressed with it's performance, he also stated, "I'm surpised your car is still in one piece too" LOL

Anyway he drives a 13 second GTI so he's biased.

So he had a question I couldn't answer nor did I want to try without getting a solid answer.

Do I have to be in competitive mode to use No Lift Shift?

No you can NLS in any mode. Why wouldnt you try it?

Although I dont recommend doing it in normal mode (ABS and Traction control on) A 1st to 2nd gear NLS will result in horsepower choking... since the wheels will try to spin or chirp and the TCS will kick in.

To echo what others have said, it is indeed active in all traction modes per the user manual.

On that note though, it's nice to have traction control off or it in competition mode, because too much spin could cause the car to let off a bit.

Edit: lol What he said^
