downpipe ?
downpipe ?
Ok if I buy a catted downpipe will i definately throw a code and i will it be ok to drive without a tune for a little while? I know i want gain anything without it but I need to be able to drive the car while waiting to get it tuned. Also in order to keep the sound tame will i need to put my muffler back on it. My car is completely stock except for muffler delete and a kandn sri. Thanks
Well I'm gonna go catted because i feel less likely of having my warranty voided because honestly i don't think the dealer works on to many SS's so they probably won't know that it had two on it. With just a SRI, trifecta, downpipe will i be pushing the clutch and transmissions limits. The car only has 23k but its my daily driver and don't want to make something i have to be afraid to have fun in. Thanks
A lot of information you're requesting can probably be found in a search of threads already posted, some sticky'd. Anyway, as far as reliability of your clutch and tranny with a Trifecta tune, I've been running one since my car had 5k miles and my clutch is still holding nicely at 25k miles and I've experienced no problems with my transmission. However, I do not drive around daily with my tune activated, I only use it when I want to run someone or just mess around. The basic 22psi Trifecta tune is pretty conservative and will be nicer to your stock clutch than more aggressive, more powerful tunes such as HPT tunes from some guys on this forum.
well i think i decided to go catless since they're no welding that has to be done if something happens i can always just switch it back to stock before going. With trifecta he'll be able to clear the code that a catless dp may throw right? I have a bolt on LS1 camaro would these mods put me in the same category as that car from a roll?
Ok I've got another question do i need a standard 02 bung or the angled. And do i need an extra one for a wideband. If its possible i will in the future how could i block off the hole for the wideband until i needed it. Thanks
ZZP catless downpipe here.. no CEL's at all; and not tuned to make the computer not see the CeL. The angled bung will pretty much, I'd say 99% solve any CEL problems that could arise no matter what you do. I believe they also have an option for the wideband on their pipes as well. Just look on their site or call em up :P
i would go with the angled if your worried about a cel, and no you dont need one for the wideband.
I have the mpx catted dp and it came with the angled vibrant 02 piece and no cel yet. Little more black to clean off the exhaust tip but i have no issues yet with over 1k miles on it since it is my dd I didn't wanna have to.drive around with the light on and wanted to have at least one car that can pass the visual inspection here in Houston since my other 2 cars won't . Plan to get it tuned next month anyway.
