Dyno possible w/trifecta tune in competition mode?
Dyno possible w/trifecta tune in competition mode?
Hi guys,
Was thinking of going for a dyno pull tomorrow. Just got my tune installed this week (Trifecta budget tune w/downpipe). Love it. Trouble is I have it set to engage in competition mode (works best for me/family that way), and I suspect it will engage ESC (I don't mean traction control) on the dyno?
Thoughts?
Mal.

Traction control isn't completely off in competition mode, just lets the back end around a bit more before kicking in.
If you run into issues make sure they're doing pulls in 4th. Mine was flipping out when they tried to do 3rd gear pulls.

you ll need to make ESC off on dyno. holding 7 sec esc
if not it ll cut your fuel at 5k rpm because rear Wheel are not spinning
if you want try stock tune, u have to push one time on esc
i did 318whp and 216 on stock tune on a happy dyno but still.
i suggest you to pull on tft first then stock tune

I could be wrong here but I think what the OP is getting at is you can't be in "competition mode" and have ESC off completely. Competition mode still employs certain aspects of the ESC and isn't a completely disabled mode. From my understanding it's press once for Traction off, twice quick for competition mode, and hold for ESC off (which disables everything and will probably not engage his stock tune?). So, I think he is asking how can he dyno test the tune (in competition mode) without having to shut off ESC (thereby taking the car out of the tune).
80vetteL82 nailed it.
I just had my trifecta switched from the cruise control to comp mode for activation. I haven't checked if ESC off is stock or high power tune since I never use ESC off mode.
If I get out on a drive today I'll tell ya if the tune engages with ESC off. You'd think it would but you never know with trifectas backwards CC on/off feature. Having to hit CC ON to turn your tune OFF is pretty silly and should be the other way around, hence me going with Comp mode activation instead.
If you could post back your mods and dyno numbers that'd be great. I think we're around the same addon's.
