ECU Swap

So I know it has been discussed for the SS SC, but is it doable to hot swap ECUs in the TC.

For example, if I wanted a stock ECU for warranty stuff, and a flashed ECU for track days, would it be possible? I know you can just run a tune and revert back to stock, but just wondering if an ECU swap is possible.

Thanks!

I picked mine up from a user on here (GTPprix). Send him a PM, it was an extremely smooth transaction and comes properly programmed for your car

Does anyone know for sure that swapping the ECU or flashing it can't be detected by the dealer (assuming the stock one is in place when the car is serviced)

Some people will say that the dealer will notice if you swap ecus but no one is positive about it. But flashing, yes the dealer will notice that like a sore thumb.
IMO if the dealer says something regarding the ecus, take it from them and go to another dealer. But I highly doubt they will notice that you have swapped ecus. The mileage and such is located in the BCM? i believe that is what it is called. I read it on here a few months ago. Search for it there are plenty of threads with it. I just dont want to get jumped on if I spread false info. but that is what I took from it.
Damn this post is too long. Sorry

I dont think I phrased the second part of my question very well.

What I was asking was that if you get a second ECU, then flash that second ECU, will the dealer see that there was a flash installed even if the original ECU was in place (an ECU that had never been flashed)

Just got my ECU from GTPprix. GREAT guy! Got the ECU quick and he answered some of my questions! He is the guy to talk to about getting spare ECUs!

The only thing that might come into play is the total miles on the car and the total miles that MIGHT be recorded on the ECU
I do not know if the miles are on the ECU or on the Body Control Module.

It's a minor point as I think only a very few people like area/regional reps can see or change the miles.

They can change the miles

Forgot to say it but buying a spare ECU is THE BEST idea if you are going to do a tune on a new car

BCM records the mileage..not the ECM
