ECU Swap
im wondering if its possible to wire in a second ecu, that is hidden on ur car somewhere, and have a switch that u can switch between the 2 whenever. i guess the switch would control power to the ecu, that would be pretty cool.
theres stickies about how not to get your clutch to slip. and your gonna need tires no matter what lmao
I think it depends on what kind of warrenty work. If you have a CEL, i believe they "go to the tape" as they like to say. But apparently i called a local speed shop and asked about a tune on my new ECM, I asked about flashing and stuff and they said "you can flash your ECM back to stock for warrenty work, and the dealers can see that you flashed it but they dont know why. They can assume you had a tune but really have no proof" but id recommend a spare ECM to avoid the whole situation

all i know is when i disconnect my battery and reconnect it and try to start my car it acts as if i just put a new PCM in. It cranks but doesnt start. so i have to turn the key off and recrank and then it starts
It doesn't really matter which you do. The new one will have your VIN and everything, so it's the exact same as the one you had originally. People just buy it, and tune it, but I didn't want to wait.
Rissa is probobly right. but I had a CEL back in the day and brought it to the dealer and they said "yea you had a misfire in cylinder 3 about a month ago" and since then im like, well....now if i bring it in and i have no history maybe theyll be like....hmmm?
So I know it has been discussed for the SS SC, but is it doable to hot swap ECUs in the TC.
For example, if I wanted a stock ECU for warranty stuff, and a flashed ECU for track days, would it be possible? I know you can just run a tune and revert back to stock, but just wondering if an ECU swap is possible.
Thanks!

im sure other people sell them or you can probobly just buy one online. ISnt there an link in the beginning of this thread. It just wont have your VIN number in it but im sure it will work just fine. will probobly do a clutch relearn like some people are talking about but idk wtf a clutch relearn is so whatever
