Engine Mod Questions

hey everyone,

as you can see from my sig, next year ill be swapping in the ZZP s256 turbo kit. i just had questions in regards to connecting rods, valve springs, and neutral balance shafts. my over all goal is MAX 400-420whp. (FOR NOW. AFTER A COUPLE YEARS ILL LOOK INTO 450ish)
if i only plan to rev out to about 6.5k are the valve springs really needed and with this power goal in mind, how necessary are the connecting rods and neutral balance shafts?

from what i've read i should be more then fine without those two but i want to make 100% sure. i would ask ZZP but im not going to bother them right now. they are extremely busy with everyones orders andquestions about the black friday sale. last thing they need is me annoying them with this question. any input?

You'll be fine. Just make sure your Tuner tunes you reliably.. meaning don't let them tune you for anything higher then 12.3-12.4.... You'll get better power at around 12.8+ but this is the main reason for blown pistons. Cracked ringlands and ect

If ZZP is doing your tuning, why don't you present these technical questions directly to them? I think that would be the best course of action to determine if your expectations will be met with the setup you have chosen.

i felt like asking the people on the forum as well. the more input and more info from people who have more experience than i do, the better it is to learn.

Gonna be fun having you help me tune when I get the s252. When I install the bottom end we'll be able to really let it breathe...

Yes, there are some knowledgeable individuals who frequent this forum, but there are many others who are not so knowledgeable when it comes to extensive modifications. I'm all for getting different opinions and insight, but if I were undertaking a relatively large project (turbo kit, internal engine work, etc.) I'd want all of my questions answered straight from the performance shop that will be supplying the parts and tuning my car. Also try searching the forums. Lots of information about the stuff you posted is floating around the site. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with the build.
