engine start button
I don't understand the point. It will never be one of the kind where you just get in the car with the key in you pocket and hit the start button. If you have to put the key in the ignition, there's no point in having a start button. It's just another step.
i can't see it being that difficult to set it up for strickly the push button i mean remote starters do the exact same thing so really all you would need to do is have the push button some sort of component to continue telling the engine that it needs to keep running and a connection to the starter or ignition module. i know its more difficult then what i'm typing but you guys get the jyst of it.

if you're eliminating the need for the stock key, then go for it. Its already out there (like in remote starters mentioned above)
My ex g/f had a Hyundi Sonata with remote start, and once you start it with the remote, in order to DRIVE you have to put the key in and turn it to the ON position. So it's kind f another step, but it's NOT at the same time, cause it unlocks your car when you use remote start (at least hers did)
If this is what you are talking about... it's been done... here ya go
