Evap purge solenoide can cause a P0101
Evap purge solenoide can cause a P0101
Hey just wanted to share some information with my fellow Cobalt SS / LNF owners.
Over the past 9 months I have fought a P0101 code. I first did the boost leak test ( no boost leak ). I then took my car (under warranty) to the dealer who said I had a bad MAF. It was replaced, and I still got the P0101. I brought it back; then they replaced my GMSK MAP sensors and re-soldered the wires. The P0101 came back. They had no idea what was wrong and said it was a boost leak on my Hahn Innercooler. I told them I had done now 3 boost leak test, there is nooooo way it is a boost leak. They also accused my bolt on’s of causing the problem. I told them there is nooooo way, I have been fully bolted for 4 1/2 years with no issues.
After being crazy frustrated with the dealer, I decide to take it into my own hands. I replaced my waist gate solenoid, P0101 came back, then I replaced the Bypass Valve solenoid, P0101 came back. I was going out of my mind. I then replaced my throttle body, P0101 came back, I replaced my front 02 sensor, P0101 came back. Ahhhhhhhhh !!!!! I was going nucking futs, finally I decided to re-test my evap purge solenoid. I tested it according to the video on DDMworks. I thought it held a vacuum but, I replaced the evap purge solenoid anyways. After replacing it the car works like new, No P0101
I hope this helps some other guys in the future.
And how is it that, the techs at the dealer and GM could not figure this out? I no longer have any trust in the dealer techs or the GM techs. I cannot express how frustrated I am that they could not figure this out!!!!

Just now I'm at the dealership getting it checked since im having the same issue ..most of different locations checking the engine light tells me the same thing..EVAP issue and seems like I'm losing boost and stalls of and on..hopefully it's the solenoid is the problem cause I sure don't wanna go through what you did..
