Exhaust questions.

Right now I've got a catless downpipe and the stock catback. Instead of buying a catback have any of you replaced the stock muffler with a bullet muffler of some kind? I used to be completely straight but got a ticket so I have to have some kind of muffler on it. If anyones done it what did you use and how did you like it? thanks

Any high flow muffler will sound good catless. You might want to try a magnaflow or a chambered muffler.

I personally like having a downpipe with the stock catback, but I'm old and this is a daily driver. Plus I like to listen to the stereo and avoid attention of the police. That said, the stock SS/TC exhaust flows pretty well, so replacing the muffler should be fine. I like the sound of Magnaflow, but there are lots of mufflers on the market.

Any muffler will make it quiet and sound good. That's the good thing about the ss/tc.

I liked the sound when it was completely straight with just the resonator left. It wasn't loud imo but I got a ticket because it was racking of at 1500 rpm and the stupid cop said he knew a cobalt wasn't suppose to do that and he said he didn't want to see me again with that cut off after my court date. He made me show him after it was fixed. Now I have to at least have something there so I can say I didn't know it was illegal. What about an old school glass pack? I know it seems dumb but thats really the only thing anywhere has in stock. What about a 1 chamber flowmaster any body heard one of those?

I have an LNF catback (muffler too) though Not quiet as you think lol. Then again I'm a n/a 2.2 with catted DP and 18" magnaflow resonator. I like the tone but the rasp sucks.

once i get a catless down pipe i'm going to do a muffler delete. if i don't like it, it's just getting a dynomax bullet muffler.

had that on my 400ci v8 and my 99 v8 silverado...both sounded soooo good. hope it will too on the turbo4.

I'm tempted to just cut the muffler back off and say to crap with the cop. My car completely straight wasn't as loud as my friends muffler deleted LSJ. That thing sounded like a airplane taking off.
