Yeah it will fit, it's a pain, but you have to give it some love to get it in place. Patience is your friend in this situation too.

heat the coupler up and stretch it... then when it cools it will get smaller for a tight fit

I should be getting a used aem intake in the mail soon. I will just use the coupler for now and stow the aluminum tube and filter away for when hpt can do something about our intake issuse. I am also going to do the lower airbox mod. I am stoked!

this mod was easy. dremeled the bend of the snorkel and cut off the elbow. Shoved the snorkel back in and placed a screw in. Done. Seeing 35lbs ....

Yeah, didn't even think of it .... not rocket science though ...

unplug MAF sensor
remove filter and stock lid
unbolt 2 bolts at top of filter box
remove one bolt at fog light on bracket
remove the PITA push clip
dremel at snorkel bend ---> remove bend only
cut off bracket (not too close since you'll create a hole in the inlet
shove new inlet into factory opening
place screw in to keep in place.

i was thinking about running the snorkle to the font of the car but up a little above the bottom grill and using the cold air the comes up from under the car and building a box around the cone filter at the end of the tube that velcro's shut for when it rains

You have to use a little lube to get it on there easily.

No issues here either. I suppose each one is a little different.

I tried for 10 minutes to slide it onto the turbo to no avail. The tube just kept flexing and collapsing. A light film of glycerine fixed it.

I had trouble with the end buckling as well, but some caressing and twisting and I was able to finally slip it on without bruising my arm too much

If I do this mod should I get the K&N dropin or is that a 2 for 1 if you need to replace it anyway? I have only 4,000 on my car so unless it's a necessity/good idea I wouldn't go buy the air filter.
