Well..I think that Motor Trend result for the 2004 is an anomaly..really.
Take a look at this info here..it's quite extensive.

5.5 0-60 and 14.2 Qtr@101MPH
That seems much more realistic.

Nissan specs. & Datsun specs. (Specifications like acceleration, top speed, hp, 1/4 mile etc.)

Here's another:

2003-2006 Nissan 350Z / 350Z Roadster - Modern Racer - Auto Archive

Top speed : 155 mph(electronically limited)
0-60 mph : 5.4 sec.('03 manual)
0-¼ mile : 14.1 sec @ 101.0 mph('03 manual)
60-0 braking distance : 119 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.89 g

Curb Weight : 3188-3347 lbs(coupe

Note that the CURB weight is around 300Lbs heavier than the TC. As a rule you give up around 10HP for each 100lbs. So you really have them pretty close in Power/Weight.
Bottom line..you can't look at ONE SINGE result and use just that one. The vast majority of results show the 2004 350z above 14.0 in the Qtr.

Yeah not trying to aruge times, just giving my two cents on what i read. Either way i think we all could agree it would be a close race stock vs stock.

ha u clearly have NO idea wat ur talking about. they handle ******* amazing and the awd in an sti is 100x better than the evo's is. maybe not the brand new evo's but the older one not as good as the sti. no way.

I would tend to agree..stock for stock. However, it's much easier to give the TC 40 more HP than it is for the Z.

And minus the heavy sensitive clutch, the 350 is so much easier to get a decent launch with (rwd)

Awesomely close race though i raced by buddys 350z from a 20 roll (for wheelspin) and we was neck and neck stock! real good race stock for stock

oh and im just supercharged, everyone else is saying a turbo one beats it but hell now you know even a s/c keeps up at least.

^^^ yea, go race. like i said, my s/c is just as fast as a 350z from a 20 roll anway so i don't think a tc would have a problem.

mmmm the noise thse 350z put out though... so orgasmic
