"This video is intended to help people identify another form of compressor surge that we're calling FLUTTERDUMP. "

NEVER GOODDDDD

like terminator said.. surge can lead to stall.. and when stall happens BYE BYE ENGINE... a bad enough surge can do that too .. not only does it brake down the turbo seals but a surge like said is air slamming into the turbine (trying to make it spin backwards) which causes the turbo turbine to move and create unequal pressure differences around the surface fins ...

a sequentual blowoff valve does makes that sound, thats what supras that make that sound have, but the one in the video sounds like compressure surge, thats bad. mine does that to when its really cold out and the car hasnt warmed up yet and i boost a little. the recirc valve wont open and i get compressure surge.

blowoff valves are not vehicle specific, u just need the right flange on there to fit the bov u want

not a supra.. but still .. it's the HKS SSQV it should NOT have a flutter.. the ssqv has an AAACHOO sound.. it shouldn't repeat

... yes it's an awesome sound .. but no.. no CHCHCHCHCH sound is every "cool" enough to sacrifice your turbo

hehe yea sorry my brother works with aircraft dynamics and developing new techs for them and he was explaining it to me .. and he said he's gotten it on one of his jet engine rigs lol sounds like a metal door slamming over and over.. lol ..

thought USUALLY severe surge will take a bit to destroy the turbo.. technically it can take only once to hit stall .. and it's not good for anything involve dlol
