Forge Bypass/Block off plate.

So after a previous owner switched my balt to a BOV set up, and neglected to to get it tuned (I'm unaware if it currently has a BPV or a blockoff plate on the turbo), I'm now looking to go back to the standard bypass set up; with the forge upgrade of course. ( link to thread with detailed problems: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...-idles-297711/ )

So my car's in the shop for bodywork from monday-thursday (frickin' deer), I'd like to get it ordered ASAP so I can put the good stuff on friday or saturday. I just need some clarification that these are what I'd need. Here's the current set up:
The BOV/Piping the previous owner set up

Close up of the BOV

and these are what I'm looking to order.

BPV: Forge Motorsports 2.0T Recirculating Bypass Valve

my biggest concern is these two things: Out of these block-off plates which would be the smarter option? I like the look of the TTR but ill go for functionality over anything.

Cobalt Turbo Kit, Diverter Valve, Bypass Valve Block Off Plate- TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE

vs.

Turbo Tech Racing Chevrolet Cobalt/Solstice/Sky/HHR BOV Delete Plate 2.0L Turbo LNF - Forced Induction

Once again, thanks in advance for the help. Hopefully I'll start picking up on these things.

Thanks for the input, although I'm not really a fan of them (it was cool when I first got the car but I'd rather most of the prominent noise to be coming from the exhaust I'll hopefully get with taxes),I had considered keeping the BOV but I wanna go back to the stock set up to avoid tuning for warranty reasons; plus it'll give me use of the no lift shift if I ever feel like playing with it.

And if you do I may be interested in buying it. If the price is right and by right I mean don't charge the same I would pay for it brand new. Again my interest is a big maybe.

I feel like a real derp right now, I thought that block off plate would bolt to my charge pipe to cover the BOV. God I feel like a moron... LOL anyways, so charge pipe and BPV... I think I saw a stock one on CL maybe ill try to pick that up while I wait for the BPV to come in...

You could also disconnect the BOV/plug the line and reinstall the BPV

I don't have the stock BPV, unless it's still currently in the car. But it started throwing a stuck BOV code right after I changed the MAF. and here I am trying to get my car back to a semi-stock set up haha.

Pay attention. Go out and check for the BPV on the turbo. If its still the plate with the nipple then we are about 99.9% sure you still have the BPV. Next order a block off plate for the charge pipe where the bov is. You can cap the vacuum hose on the bov temporarily. Third run that vacuum line coming from the solenoid back to your stock BPV on the turbo. Very easy process if its setup the way youve been saying.

The BPV is right next to where the CAI connect to the turbo. Stock its tan in color and has a nipple in the middle which a vacuum hose attaches to, to operate it. It is held on by three bolts. If you can see the turbo inlet, you can see the BPV area.

Thank you! I've been looking for a picture like that for a while. Just for clarification, when you apply it to the car, that picture would be upside down, correct?

You didnt order that block off plate did you? You really need to just replace the charge pipe I think I dunno if anyone makes a block off plate for the charge piping, I guess Dejon might?

no that picture orientation is right side up in respect to the location on the car. However it is mirrored. If your looking at the photo and at the turbo in your engine the BPV is directly above the turbo inlet and faces the passenger side of the car. Its held by three screws in a triangular fashion.

The photo of this turbo is literally from the passengers perspective if the car was invisibile and only the turbo was visible

here. This took me along time to draw so I hope you appreciate this.

Can you figure out where your BPV is suppose to be now? Do I need to draw the exhaust and highlight the BPV? Oh and thats what we car in the tuner industry a "crate" motor.

You dont have a stock Borgwarner twin scroll K04 turbo. Not retarded at all. You cant go back to stock. Looks like a precision turbo. Anybody recognize it?

There was some misscommunication in here. We thought you had a stock turbo since you said you wanted to go back to stock. Alas, all that hard work to draw my picture.... out the window.

here is what it should look like.

^Thats the Forge recirculating BPV on the stock K04.

^My set up.

I believe Dejon sells turbo kits and you happen to have a precision "5557"? on your car. You can buy a stock turbo from ZZP for around $480??? I think. Now that im thinking about this, I doubt there is any warranty at all. Did you check to see if there was a warranty? Did you buy it from a dealership or straight from a previous owner? Did he tell you it still has its warranty? Because if it does, theres no way you will get warranty work done if they figure out that that turbo isnt stock.

Since you have the intake off, check for shaft play. Maybe your problem is that that turbo is on its way out? That turbo on your car SHOULD be tuned for. I find it hard to believe you have that setup with a stock tune. The car would be undriveable and throwing CELs all over the place.

To go back to stock. YOu need the following.

http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...-Assembly.aspx

http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...oler-Pipe.aspx
w/o flange

http://www.modernperformance.com/pro...rboaccessories

You probably also need a new exhaust manifold but hopefully that turbo kit used the stock exhaust manifold and didnt f*ck it up with some kind of welded flange or something... If thats the case then I just go with a whole new turbo kit setup.

You'll need a reflash to stock parameters, if your not already. Somebody with HPtuners can do that.

You may need a new intake if that intake is custom tailored to that turbo, looks like the stock location so it should work okay. Just dont know how the inlet will align.

You may need some new couplers if you go with the ZZP charge piping. They sell the upper and lower coupler for that charge pipe.

OP email Trifecta and find out if they have record of tuning your VIN and if you can find someone near you with HPTuners have them check out your tune.

Another thing. Have no idea what the exhaust setup looks like on the otherside of that turbo... Do you have the stock upper exhaust pipe? Is that thing open waste gate or closed? Does it have an internal waste gate. Theres alot here to change out for a stock cobalt ss.
