Forge Diverter Valve Questions ??
With only having my tc for a few weeks. I have been trying to read as much as I can understand. Which aint much !! I was thinj=king of picking up a Forge Diverter Valve from modern performance. There pretty resonably priced. And look simple to install. However , I have a few questions. I take it that when they call it a diverter valve. thats the same thing as a bpv ? Alos , I have heard that the nosie that comes with the forge is only slightly louder then stock. And that to hear it really well you should have an intake ? Or at least a cold side pipe. Is that correct ? And lastly. IF I did get the forge unit. Will it cause any driveability issues at all ? And will my car have to be retuned for the forge ? I have rea that our cars use a re-circulating system for the turbo an some bov can only really be used if you retune for them. Other then this forge bpv I may some day get an intake and possibly gms1. Thats all I will probably ever do to my balt.

no you do not need one they are just stronger and wont tear like the stock one can.
if you want a really good sound get the forge bpv and a k&n sri, wont even need a tune but its the smart thing to do.

Isn't the Forge Diverter valve just a different name for a bpv ? I thoought they were one in the same thing. If so , then get the Forge Diverter valve and an intake ?

Will I be okay with NO tune. Will I have any driveability issues ? Because there are no tuners any where even remotly close to me. The nearst ine is probably close to a 4 to 5 hour drive. So what intake is the best with no driving issues. With no tune ?
P.s - I did read the intake thread. But theres too much info in there to sort through !!

You can be tuned remotely, FYI.
The Forge doesn't change anything if you use the spring that comes with it. Don't need a tune for that. The K+N reportedly causes no change in trims and doesn't "need" to be tuned for. I haven't tested it myself, can only report what I've seen posted here.

yea, K&N intake seems to work without a tune on 90% of vehicles on here. I know it works perfectly for me and Im right near sea level.
Any type of scan guage or scan tool that reads fuel trims off the OBDII is your friend . It will help you narrow down the the right placement of the filter.

no you dont need a tune but its always a good idea to get one, i ran the same setup without a tune for a couple months and it was fine.

Here's all the information you need to know about the K&N SRI..... buy it. The main advantage is that it makes your turbo sound loud and awesome. I've been running it with GMS1 for months now with no issues.
I also have the forge bpv. Honestly, I didn't think it was any louder than stock. In fact, I felt that it was a bit more quiet. However, I do feel that now it produces a more quality blow off sound because it's metal and not rubber. Also, it's much more durable than the stock one. I have no complaints and would recommend it. BUT, I would not recommend it without getting the K&N SRI first.
