Fuel pump failed

Fuel pump failed

Hey, has anyone else had there fuel pump fail? I have 39,000 miles on my TC/SS and it went into pwr reduced. took it to the Dealer and they tell me the pump has failed. 7 days to get the part. anyone? strange

Your charge piping didn't happen to let go and smash into it did it? Those are the only failure I have heard of to date with respect to fuel pumps.

wow i dont know if thats a true cause or not but that sounds so damn fake, if a tech told me that i would probably think hes an idiot by hearing that

but like i said, it may be something that can happen lol

which fuel pump? the in gas tank one or the high flow one in the engine bay?

Oh right, I forgot to mention that part . If he means the HPFP if the charge piping blew off its factory stud (for 08 and early 09) it could hammer into the HPFP, knock it for a loop and **** failed miserably from there on out.

If he means the one from the tank then yes my post is completely invalid and sounds like the lamest reason for that ever

gas tank fuel pump
in engine bay cam driven fuel pump

theres 2 for direct injection engines.

mine failed at around 13k. I got the engine pwr reduced as well.

ah good thing I have injen pipping and screwed it down!

I just did the recall, I check it occasionally and it's holding much better, but I do intend to replace the charge piping (at least hot-side) one day or another .

i have what seems like a fueling issue. i have 27k on my stock LAP. i feel a slight (cant see rpm change) to extreme (seem rpms drop 1k) jerk while cruising to easy acceleration, never at WOT. Occurs in all weather and driving conditions

Pump

Hey, thanks for the replys. the pump failed on the engine. no my carge pipes did not do it. **** happens, covered under warranty. oh ya. free is good.
